Strange spam. I guess the ads are getting cut off. This reminds me of Dostoevsky spam where i was sent sections of crime and punishment that some how morphed into gibberish and dick pills ads. Very surreal. |

things are starting to settle down, and i'm getting sucked into reptition. i've been here one week but it feels like a year. i'm ready to end this, but its not over yet. and the things i think of doing, do i really want to? i have no idea what will happen, but i already know what happens tomorrow. and that makes me feel so tired. the stagnation is suffocating. |

Kimonozume is a series that just started that isn't getting a lot of notice. The first two episodes have been subbed, but it really seems like the series isn't really getting out there. It's really too bad because the art direction of the series so far has been really brilliant.
It's animated by madhouse, and the director for the animation is none other than 湯浅政明 yuasa masaaki, the director of another movie that i really enjoyed, Mind Game. To my suprise the character design is done by the art director of samurai champloo. The animation style is unique, and mad house seem to have no problem adapting to the style that studio 4c and yuasa masaaki created mindgame in. The director once again blends real media with animation in this series like he did with Mind Game and it works very well. Though, it seems a little more rougher than mindgame was, but that's pretty understandable since mindgame was a feature length movie.
The music is also quite interesting to note. A lot of jazz being incorporated into the show. It really gives off that "artsy" credibility, though at the end it's a series about flesh eating monsters and star crossed lovers. |

There is definitely something masochistic about watching shoujo series. |

i saw jun ichikawa's adaptation of harumi murakami's short story "tony takitani." it was very elegant. A lot of people on imdb talked about how "depressing" it was. I don't know, i symphathized a lot with the main character, feeling somewhat similar. But for me, that sort of loneliness and the way of dealing with it seems somewhat natural. I suppose the loneliness wasn't what was depressing about the movie, rather what happened after he met eiko was. Hard to say, but it is a subtle and poignant film.
I had a feeling that Ryuichi Sakamoto did the score, it fits so well. |

Music: Stereo Total's new album been listening to Combustable Edison and Color Filter
Ps2 Cords came and now i'm playing english version of Kingdom Hearts Warriors + Dq8 also sitting around.
Started watching gun x sword, new debut episode from manglobe studio ergo proxy. gun x sword seems sorta stupid, really shonen. ergo proxy looks great but too much is left unexplained.
FFXI: Combat Skils: Axe Merit 4 (done) Sword Merit 3 (need lvl 8)
need to get 130000 more experience point to cap combat skills. (ugh) then i can start on critical and job specific! |

| [ | mood |
| | blank | ] | I'm going to try something for a couple of days. Playing around with this concept of... communicating moods through music or something. Like how Wong Kar Wai does with his actors. Play people a song to let them now how to feel.
So the concept is just to pick 5 songs, make them available and write a little info on the track or something.
Anyways today's mood is something housey jazzy and dancey so I guess a general good mood.
Mondo Grosso - Don't Let Go (Shinichi Osawa's OSJ Club Mix) Flevans - Dumb Ballad Ugly Duckling - Rio De Janeiro Moonraker - Shalom Soil & Pimp - Waltz For Goddess
Clicking on the Artist will give you their respective sites. Clicking on the track will let you hear the song.
Go ahead and hotlink or whatever to the mp3s it doesn't really matter. These songs will probably be here for at least a week. I'll see if I can keep posting Mp3s like every other day.

mind game is a pretty amazing movie. its great the second time around... noticed a lot of things i missed the first time. though i'll probably need to watch it a third time before i can grasp the story all the way.
now i want mind game soundtrack, mind game remix, and cha no aji soundtrack as well... little tempo does a really nice song for that movie.
in other news, i finished classes but i'm still here. i think i want to go home. |
